Leatherman Freestyle
Most of you may know of Leatherman, and if you do that means you are well aware of their top-notch quality multi-tools. Leatherman has many models of multi-tools for different purposes but I would like to talk about a specific model that most people leave out of their personal multi-tool of choice. That’s right it’s the Leatherman Freestyle, which also has a twin brother the Freestyle CX which was minor differences. The Freestyle is very minimalistic, which in my case is a good thing because these tools are the ones I need the most. The tools it contains are:
1. 420HC stainless steel Blade (combo-edge)
2. Pliers (needlenose, regular, wirecutters, hard wirecutters)
You read that correctly, there are only 2 tools on this tools. Most people consider this a stupid idea, but infact this is a GREAT idea. The knife is a tool that everyone needs on a daily basis, and pliers also come in handy from time to time, so Leatherman took this into consideration and made a tool that people will buy because of its uniqueness. I carry this tool everyday mainly because of the knife, and the pliers are just an added bonus!. This tool is not very expensive and the next time you pass by it by any chance just think for a second is this a tool that I will use, and I’m sure your answer will be “HELL YEAH”. This tools is not only a tool you will use for edc (everyday carry) tasks but I believe this tool could tackle any task that you give it out in the woods. I hope this short review made you rethink the option that Leatherman made for everyone. If you’re not convinced than I think you should buy it and find out for yourself!!!.

Fire Making
Fire making can be a bit of a hassle for people, and i found a few people that can’t even start a fire. I thought to myself, well I’d like to think that I’m pretty good at making fire. Making fire is very simple if you follow simple and safe steps. What you will need to make a fire is:
1. Fire source (lighter, matches, ect)
2. Tinder (cotton balls, paper, ect.)
3. Thin and dry branches for starting your fire
4. Bigger pieces of wood so your fire lasts for a longer amount of time
I know some of you may think this is easy, but there are people out there who never have started a fire in their entire life. Helping and teaching people to safely use fire is one way to prevent forest fires. Start small, so that means make a small fire in a metal bucket of some sort. Be careful not to get burned by the fire, or to let your children play anywhere near it ALONE. Keep an eye out for the kids and they should be fine, and have fun as well. I personally love making campfires and just sitting together with friends and loved ones. Fire is a great heat and light source, so do not be afraid of starting one while your camping, because your fire is your best friend in the cold and dark forest. Just remember your basic steps and you will safely make a fire and have fun doing it.
Take care, and stay sharp.

Wenger esquire
I did a post on Wenger vs. Victorinox not to long ago, and since I reviewed a Victorinox knife I wanted to counter that with a Wenger knife review. Today’s review choice is the Wenger Esquire. This little guy is a bit bigger than the Victorinox classic which can be an issue to some of you, but as for me it works out fine. Just like the Victorinox classic this has 3 major tools which it focuses on, they are the following:
1. Sciccors
2. Plain edge knife
3. File
EXTRA TOOLS:
1. Toothpick
2. Tweezers
I know the esquire may not be everyone’s cup of tea but for an everyday tool this tiny guy is perfect. I would like to point out that this was my first knife ever, and it has never let me down for the past 9 years. This says a lot about the quality and durability of this SAK (Swiss army knife). The esquire does not cost all that much, its anywhere from 15-25 dollars I believe. If you’re looking for a small tool for office work, school work, or just your everyday type of tool, than I believe you’d be happy with the Wenger Esquire. If you happen to see it in stores, check it out, if it’s in your price range I don’t see why you should not pick this little guy up.
Thank you for reading, take care and stay sharp!

Gerber Vise review
Ever find yourself in a situation where you need pliers? A knife? A screwdriver? Well I suggest you get a multi-tool so that next time you’ll be prepared. Some people cant afford to carry a huge and heavy multi-tool, well have no fear because I got an answer for you. I am the proud owner of the “Gerber Vise” mini keychain multi-tool which fits in my small jeans pocket and I don’t even notice the tool is there at all. I’m not saying you need to go out and get the Gerber Vise because there are plenty of small compact multi-tools but since I own this multi-tool this review will be based on that. The Vise is very small but don’t be fooled by its size, because with this small size you get some handy tools. The tools it contains are the following:
1. Small needle nose pliers
2. Wire cutters
3. Plain edge knife
4. Serrarated knife
5. Bottle opener / flat head screwdriver
6. Small head screwdriver (for eye glasses)
7. File
8. Philips head screwdriver (2D)
I have been carrying this multi-tool for a little over a month now and I can safely say that this little guy has saved my ass a few times. I have used it for various things from cutting thread sticking out of my shirt to using the pliers to pick up and item where my hands cant reach. Just because the pliers are small it does not mean that they are not useful, I can pretty much guess that people will need and find a use for pliers everyday. There is not much else I can say about this tool or about any other ones but my suggestion is that you get out and get yourself some sort of a multi-tool. A multi-tool will save the day or even save your life depending on the situation. As I always say do your research and think about what tool will help you out the most. Just have fun with choosing, I know I always do!!.

Camping season
Well it’s that time of the year again when it gets HOT, and people love to take their tents and go out camping. Camping is a great way to spend quality time with your family or just go out and relax kind of thing. Usually the best place to camp is somewhere near the water, which just adds more fun to your trip. Water can become your drinking source, or even a place to wash your face, just be sure to check if the water is clean and safe to use. Camping trips are fun, but you have to remember that you have to be prepared with the right gear to safely have fun on your adventure. I’ve gone on a one-day camping trip to test out my new tent, so I’ll list some things that I brought with me on that one-day trip.
1.Sleeping bag (or two if you have the room for it)
2.A Tent (or some kind of shelter)
3.Airbed (this is just for me, but you do need something to lay down on)
4.First-air kit
5.Knife (can be a bushcraft knife, survival knife, or a multi-tool)
6.Blanket (could get cold at night)
7.Fire starting kit (bring plenty ways to start a fire)
8.Tinder (cotton balls, cotton pads, or just use natural tinder if you can find it)
9.Flashlights (very important that you bring some short of light source)
10.Whistle
11.Signaling Mirror
12.Axe / big knife ( use to chop wood, you will need it for your fire )
13.Multi-tool (a multi-tool is always an important asset for camping folks)
14.A friend or Family (always is better and more fun to be with the people you love)
If you take most of that gear with you I guarantee that you will be able to safely start your fun camping trip. On the other hand not everyone can afford to carry that much gear with them, well I recommend you search for similar gear but maybe in a different size and weight, so it will fit your needs best. I’m one of those people that likes to be prepared when is comes to camping, and 14 things is not really all that much if you look at it that way. If you can afford to bring this stuff with you, I recommend you do so. A fun trip is a safe trip, so remember to always stay alert and to stay prepared when you’re camping outdoors. Start with the most basic steps to start you out:
1.Find your place ( the spot where you will set up )
2.Set up your camp
3.Start a fire
Once these 3 simple steps are complete than everything else is a walk in the woods ( so to speak ). The 3rd step is the most important because it will become your main, cooking source, and your light source, and maybe even your protection source. While camping outdoors you have to be aware that wild animals are out there and can sometimes stumble upon your camping spot. The fire is a great way to keep them away, since animals tent to be afraid of it. Just remember to be prepared and stay sharp at all times and you will do great. Follow these simple steps and your camping trip will be a great experience for you and your family.

Victorinox One-Handed Trekker Review
The Victorinox makes many great quality knives. The one that I received as a present from my girlfriend was the One-handed Trekker model. This model is great for camping, hiking, fishing, and even as an everyday carry knife. It comes with various functions such as:
- One-handed opening combo edge knife
- Wood saw
- Bottle opener with a big flathead screwdriver
- Can opener with a small flathead screwdriver
- Philips head screwdriver
- An Awl
- Toothpick
- Tweezers
There tools are the best for camping and outside work. While I was camping I used this very same model to carve out a wooden fork out of wood. Besides using it while camping I use my trekker model to cut rope, paper, boxes, and just about anything I need to. The only down side I can possibly think of is the size, the size is not the best for a tool like this, but they were aiming for this tool to be used in the outdoors. I believe it carries out its duty that Victorinox wanted perfectly. So to sum it up, this multi-tool is a high value tool which main use is helping out a fellow camper. I would recommend this model anyday, and I suggest you take a look at it if you need something a bit smaller than a fixed blade for your camping needs. I know you will not be disappointed.
Take care,

Victorinox vs Wenger
Everyone in the world knows the sak aka The Swiss Army Knife made by Victorinox and Wenger. A lot of people debate weather to buy a Victorinox or a Wenger knife or multi-tool as many refer to them as. There are many models of both Victorinox and Wenger, its up to you to choose. I personally have both a Victorinox knife and a Wenger knife. The models I posses are the “Victorinox, one-handed trekker” and the “Wenger esquire” both of which are excellent quality material knives.
If your thinking about getting one or the other, I suggest doing your research and look up on the models of both brands. The question you want to ask yourself is “What tools will fit my needs best?”, this question is not taken into account most of the time and people tent to do an impulse buy and get a tool which contains tools that they will never need. The other thing you want to look into is how much do you want to spend, Victorinox has many fine multi-tools but some can be a bit expensive for example “The Swiss-tool”. Most people carry their Swiss army knife everyday, from day to night, and no matter what you may think of that, that is the logical choice. Carrying around some short of tool is something everyone should do.
Nothing can be done in an emergency if you don’t have the right tool with you. For example, your car breaks down and you may find that a decent pair of pliers is needed for the job, the Swiss-tool would help a lot, but it you don’t have it than your pretty much done for. Wenger makes a few models that have plies but its something about the butterfly-opening style pliers that makes a man more confident. I love both my Swiss army knife tools and I would never get rid of either. My first knife was the “Wenger esquire” which is still very much useful to me. In the end it’s up to the buyer to choose which brand works for them but just be sure to read up on the models and think about what will you use it for and you will be fine. Every choice is hard, but just think about how much good you can do with your multi-tool with you day in and out. Just something to think about.
Take care.

Getting started on youtube: Reviews
When thinking of youtube what comes to your mind? I don’t know about you but I think of gear reviews. I think reviews are the most popular thing on youtube. There are lots of categories in reviews such as: movie reviews, book reviews, game reviews, and my favorite gear review. If you think you want to become a reviewer I suggest you follow a few simple steps. One is of course choosing what king of items you want to review. Two is observation, yeah you read that right, find a youtuber that reviews similar products if not the same, and look at these techniques. Don’t think this means you’re going to copy his ideas, that’s a NO NO on youtube. You want to study from this “youtuber” and get inspired on your own way of reviewing things.
The reason reviews are so popular is because people want to know weather to buy this product or not. This is what your looking for, you want to review something that you like and thing that your opinion will influence other people’s thinking of the item. This is not an easy task. I have been a reviewer for about 4 months I believe, and results are slowly appearing. Just remember not to overdo it when it comes to the length of your video, if it is to long people will get bored instantly. Try to upload a video once every 3 or 4 days tops.
So really if you think you don’t have what it takes don’t let that discourage you because like everyone you also have an equal chance on getting popular with your videos. I may not be as popular as Cutlerylover for example but I have some fans who I love hearing from, and I believe that’s its own reward. Just believe in yourself and be creative and let your thoughts fly on camera and you will do great!

How to get a GOOD cheap knife
If you’re like me and sometimes you just can’t spend 100 dollars on an expensive knife but you still want something decent for cheap, here is what you can do. Well first off you want to think about how much are you willing to spend and just what kind of knife you’re looking for. Price differs deepening on the steel of the knife and other important factors. Once you’ve figured out what it is that you’re looking for YOU GO LOOK. The problem is “Where do I look?” well that’s easy; your best friend is the INTERNET. You could do an e-bay search for something you want, but there is a chance that person is going to give you false information on the knife itself.
The mind is a wonderful thing is what I always say, just do your research! look up the knife that has caught your interest. Just look it up on Google or your could go on bladeforums.com and ask some people for help. Always is nice to get some fine information from an experienced knife collector. If your one of those people that don’t want to use e-bay there is still lots of ways to find your dream knife. Either look up on Google where can you find a store with knives and such, but remember some places will have the expensive and fancier knives.
Knives “made in china” or “made in Japan” usually tend to be a piece of crap, but don’t be fooled by what people tell you. Chinese knives can sometimes be a great piece of gear or just a nice knife for your collection if you’re a collector like me. Custom knives made by an individual who has great skill can also be a choice. You have to remember that custom knives tend to be a little more expensive but the choice is yours.
Some brands like “Gerber” sells great gear not just knives that are very cheap. You may even consider buying a Multi-tool which most of the time includes a knife blade. You just have to think hard about what you want and not be afraid to ask around and do your research.
I personally have been fooled into buying a fake “CRKT” knife. CRKT is also a great brand but unfortunaly I have been mislead into buying a fake one.
Good luck and be careful,
