Camping season
Well it’s that time of the year again when it gets HOT, and people love to take their tents and go out camping. Camping is a great way to spend quality time with your family or just go out and relax kind of thing. Usually the best place to camp is somewhere near the water, which just adds more fun to your trip. Water can become your drinking source, or even a place to wash your face, just be sure to check if the water is clean and safe to use. Camping trips are fun, but you have to remember that you have to be prepared with the right gear to safely have fun on your adventure. I’ve gone on a one-day camping trip to test out my new tent, so I’ll list some things that I brought with me on that one-day trip.
1.Sleeping bag (or two if you have the room for it)
2.A Tent (or some kind of shelter)
3.Airbed (this is just for me, but you do need something to lay down on)
4.First-air kit
5.Knife (can be a bushcraft knife, survival knife, or a multi-tool)
6.Blanket (could get cold at night)
7.Fire starting kit (bring plenty ways to start a fire)
8.Tinder (cotton balls, cotton pads, or just use natural tinder if you can find it)
9.Flashlights (very important that you bring some short of light source)
10.Whistle
11.Signaling Mirror
12.Axe / big knife ( use to chop wood, you will need it for your fire )
13.Multi-tool (a multi-tool is always an important asset for camping folks)
14.A friend or Family (always is better and more fun to be with the people you love)
If you take most of that gear with you I guarantee that you will be able to safely start your fun camping trip. On the other hand not everyone can afford to carry that much gear with them, well I recommend you search for similar gear but maybe in a different size and weight, so it will fit your needs best. I’m one of those people that likes to be prepared when is comes to camping, and 14 things is not really all that much if you look at it that way. If you can afford to bring this stuff with you, I recommend you do so. A fun trip is a safe trip, so remember to always stay alert and to stay prepared when you’re camping outdoors. Start with the most basic steps to start you out:
1.Find your place ( the spot where you will set up )
2.Set up your camp
3.Start a fire
Once these 3 simple steps are complete than everything else is a walk in the woods ( so to speak ). The 3rd step is the most important because it will become your main, cooking source, and your light source, and maybe even your protection source. While camping outdoors you have to be aware that wild animals are out there and can sometimes stumble upon your camping spot. The fire is a great way to keep them away, since animals tent to be afraid of it. Just remember to be prepared and stay sharp at all times and you will do great. Follow these simple steps and your camping trip will be a great experience for you and your family.
Stay safe, and stay sharp
